The Drone is the worker bee of the Zerg army. In StarCraft 2, as in the original, the Drone is consumed when creating a building, effectively making each buildings cost 75 crystal more. Also, drones may only create buildings on creep. Drones primary functions are to mine minerals, gas and construct buildings. In a pinch, they can be used to help attack or defend (typically defend) as they do have a minor ability to fight. The Drone is a Hive Worker and has a unit type of Light - Biological.
