The Siege Tank is a staple unit of the Terran army in StarCraft 2 as it was in StarCraft 1. It brings a range of 13 and the same devastating Crucio shock cannon that it had before. The Siege tank can be in either tank mode or siege mode. In Tank mode the Siege Tank still deals effective damage and even extra damage vs. armored units, while in Siege mode the tank can deal a whopping 50 splash damage to units and increases its range from 7 to 13 - however it cannot move when it is sieged and the transformation takes 3 seconds.
