Scouting with Your Overlord

How and when to properly scout with your Overlords. Scouting with Overlords should be done at the start of the game as well as throughout, getting surprised about a tech switch is always avoidable.

Featured Units:

You should scout with your overlord at the beginning of the game and then throughout the game as well with further overlords.   Overlord is used for this strategies

Send your overlord to the opponents base or expansion or key points on the map.
 

[Tips for Pulling This Off]

-Remember to send your overlords to important parts of the map and to upgrade your overlords speed when you upgrade to lair.- Setting your Overlord on Ledges can help them scout while not allowing ground troops to see them.

This is great in most cases, especially if you can maintain map control.   This is bad if you aren't going air and your opponent goes an air or air harass strategy and can destroy a lot of your overlords that are scattered about the map.

  • [Generate Creep]

    Hotkey: (G)
    Generate Creep is an ability of scouting-with-your-overlord While activated, the Overlord excretes creep onto the ground. The creep only generates while the unit is not moving.
    Type: Channeled
