Difficulty Rank:

3/5

When to Use:

Featured Units:

Late game situations when your opponent has bases that are well defended from a frontal attack or you want to harass expansions in a savvy manner.   Overlord is used for this strategies

[What to do]

Load units into your overlord and bring them discreetly to the desired drop point and then unload them.

[Tips for Pulling This Off]

It is recommended to scout your drop point before you drop and to bring in a couple empty overlords slightly ahead of your main force to absorb any initial defense blows. Also, after your units are dropped you may want to attack other areas on the map to cause confusion to your enemy or to hit a point where he's taking units from to defend against your drop.

Good vs. These Races / Strategies:

Bad vs. These Races / Strategies:

This is great for island maps and when you can't penetrate the front entrance of your opponents base.   This is bad vs. well defended bases as the overlords will get destroyed before they can drop the troops causing a massive loss of spent resources.

What to do in Success:

What to do in Failure:

It is likely you will have an economic advantage (taking out an expansion) or a production advantage (taking out production facilities) so it is recommended you try to push on your opponent in either case and then out produce them or to establish further map control and widdle your opponent away.   If you fail they may look to push on you as they have taken out a disproportionate amount of your units to theirs. Look out for a counter or them to establish greater map control.
