How to Harass your opponent in the mid-game with your speedy and durable Roaches. Roaches in StarCraft 2 can get the speed upgrade once the Lair tech is reached and turn into durable harassing units.

When to Use: |

Featured Units: |
| Use this soon after upgrading to a Lair if you have Roaches. |

|
[What to do] |
| Upgrade your Roaches movement speed and use them in a similar fashion to speedlings. Roaches with Speed upgrade can outrun almost any army and are strong and durable units to use for harassment. |
|
| |
[Tips for Pulling This Off] |
| If you can scout beforehand it will help. Your goal is to hit and run as fast as possible with them. If you get in a close fight with units with larger range than yours it is recommended to use the Roaches speed to close in on them so all of your Roaches can attack. |

Good vs. These Races / Strategies: |
|
Bad vs. These Races / Strategies: |
| This is great if your opponents bases are not walled off and your Roaches can quickly get in, down the worker line and get out. Roaches are also strong enough to fight with most tier 2 and below units. |
|
This is not good if your opponent goes Heavy Marauders, Immortals or Mutalisks. However, the Roaches speed upgrade will allow them to escape most of these situations. |

What to do in Success: |
|
What to do in Failure: |
| If you are successful you can continue to try to push or you can back off and expand and gain map control. Continue to scout though as a good air army or a strong anti-armor army can destroy your Roaches in a stand up fight. |
|
If you are to fail escape with as many Roaches as possible and quickly switch tech to whatever counters your opponents army. |
