When can a base be considered 'saturated'?

Thinking #of workers, # of remaining mineral patches. Can anyone give a little insight in this?
      Thanks

Maximum efficiency is reached at 2 per mineral patch and 3 per gas so that would be:

      2 x 8 + 3 x 2 = 22 workers

HOWEVER! The distant mineral patches need three for constant mining, however this is not exactly efficient and as a result an expansion that is semi saturated (16 ish at main and natural) is prefferable to lots of workers on one base. This rule is really important as zerg, and as terran or toss you can stop just before 30 as long as you continue production in anticipation for an upcoming expansion.

30 is absolute saturation, any more has literally 0 effect. Workers 23-30 have almost no effect, but still a little.

Players will build more workers at their main before expanding to 'fully saturate' their main. Afterwards the remaining workers that arent mining efficiently will be transferred to the natural.
I'd say 25 workers max for full saturation on 8 patches, any more will probably be for upcoming transfers to expansions.

think of it as 3 workers for each gas (3x2=6) then about 24-28 workers on minerlas. so thats 24-28+6 = 30-34 workers at a base, then mulitply that by number of exspos u have
(ex- i have 3 fully bases. 30x3=90 workers to fully saturate each base(but u almost never fully saturate 3 bases)
i rather u hate me for who i am, than love me for who im not
      Terran FTW
add goldtitan on sc2 for 1v1s (code- 224)

Yeah having 90 workers really takes away your army supply, I think sticking around 70 tops is best.

30+ works on 1 base is overkill, each patch can take 2 workers, the farest patches may require 3 for constant mineing,
      Overall including gas 6 + 16 = 24 24-28 would be a good number.

(someone correct me if im wrong here,) but i dont think that number would change EVEN if its high yeild minerals

Another thing Ive noticed, zerg can get away with more drones as long as they have the larva to continually remax their armies. Also terran can just use mules to fuel themselves end game to free up supplies assuming they construct enough orbitals. Of course SCV's are neededd to get gas, however seen it free up a hell of a lot :/
