The M and M push is an early game push strategy for Terran players in StarCraft 2. This strategy consists of getting a ball of Marines and Marauders before pushing on your opponents base. It leverages concussive grenades and kiting and easily transitions into later game strategies if the push is not 100% succesful.

[Terran Build Order]

Scouting Needs: |
|
Optimal Map Conditions: |
| Scout the base relatively early just so you know where it is. Look for a cheez air strategy and a proxy build and you should be ok. |
|
Medium and Small sized maps work well for this strategy. |

Vs Terran: |
|
Vs Protoss: |
|
Vs Zerg: |
| This build is pretty much the mirror matchup for these races. If you don't go this build early you'll leave yourself susceptible to an early push. Quick tanks though is something to watch out for as well as cloaked banshee's. |
|
This build works well vs. Protoss but you will want to scout them to look for quick Colossus as those will counter your M&M stack and you will want to hit the protoss player before they get the Colossus. Also, watch out for a Phoenix build as an M&M stack with too few marines can fall prey to Phoenix harass. |
|
This build works well vs. Zerg. The Roaches will go down to Marauders and if you keep your M&M group balled they will also defeat Zerglings fairly easily. - however keep your base sealed if you aren't paying attention as speedlings may rush in and harass Watch your positioning though and the Zerg expanding quickly to out do you economically. Also, watch for early Muta's harassing you and focusing down on Marines. |

What to Watch out For: |
| Watch out for early cheez builds and early air builds. If your opponent is going early air building more marines and less marauders will counter any early air. Also, watch your positioning, it's essential for early M&M groups to stay in a ball to maximize their ranged effectiveness. if your opponent has Colossus or tanks you will need to quickly focus them down. |
| |
Tips for Pulling off the Attack: |
| Get stim pack early as this will greatly increase your damage output. Also, set your rally points to outside the opponents base and continuously build units so that you can reinforce your attack as it continues. Ball your units as often as possible to avoid melee units gaining an advantage and use Marauder kiting (with concussive upgrade) to avoid taking damage or to chase fleeing enemies. Pushing out with 15+ units is suggested. |
| |
Transitioning out of this Strategy: |
| If your initial attack partially succeeds then you can continue to push - if you have damaged enough or think you can out-micro or you can tech up to starport and get Medivacs to assist your M&M ball and become an MMM grouping. Depending on your opponents build though you may want to change strategy - Colossus, go to Vikings, Tanks go to Banshees, etc. |
