The Proxy Gate build order in StarCraft 2 is an aggressive early rush strategy for the Protoss. It is the construction of buildings near or inside of your opponents base and the mass construction of Zealots to quickly rangle your opponent into submission.

Scouting Needs: |
|
Optimal Map Conditions: |
| Know where the other persons base is at the start of the game and where to properly proxy. |
|
Small to medium sized maps are best for this strategy |

Vs Terran: |
|
Vs Protoss: |
|
Vs Zerg: |
| This strategy works well vs. Terran but you will need to sneak your probe into their base without them noticing and early so that you can build your gateway in their base. Otherwise, you will have to build outside their base. |
|
This strategy can work well but you have to be quicker than the other protoss player. It will help to if you can focus down on a lone pulon powering their gateways or quickly destroy much of their probe line. |
|
This strategy can work well but you must go unnoticed. A Zerg player can quickly switch to zerglings, utilize a Queen and build spine crawlers to counter early zealot pushes. |

What to Watch out For: |
| Watch out for early melee units or other early cheez strategies. Also, watch out for them noticing your attack and bunkering in or destroying your early pylon as this can quickly put you behind economically and in unit count. |
| |
Tips for Pulling off the Attack: |
| You will want to sneak a probe in early to build pylon in the corner of their base or below a ledge. If you build below the ledge you will want to run the probe into the base and build the gateways in the base. Going unnoticed is critical as a proxy gate can be easy to stop. |
| |
Transitioning out of this Strategy: |
| If the attack goes reasonably well but you cannot finish it off you will likely need to rebuild your production facilities at your own base. It is recommended that you expand as well as your harassment has gone reasonably well. If you were unable to harass them then you will need to quickly build production facilities in your own base and play somewhat defensively as you will be behind in unit count. |
