Four Gate Push Build Order

The Four Gate Push is a strong early game build for Protoss in StarCraft 2. The Four Gate Push is the massing of zealots at your base and then a quick, and relentless, push into your opponents base, looking to catch them off guard and undermanned.

Scouting Needs:

Optimal Map Conditions:

You will want to scout your enemy for location purposes and to see if they are blockading their entrance.   Small to medium sized maps are best for this strategy

Vs Terran:

Vs Protoss:

Vs Zerg:

This strategy is not very effective as the zealots can easily be stopped by a well defended blockade.   If properly executed this strategy can work well as the zealots can overwhelm the opponents army. Watch for blockades to delay your forces though and utilize map control while teching if this is the case.   This strategy works best vs. Zerg. Their inability to block their entrance allows for zealots to enter the base with the least resistance. If the enemy goes roaches add a sentry or two to help lower damage taken and quickly push into the main base.

What to Watch out For:

Watch out for early blockades to slow down your troops. Your goal is to overwhelm with units but you cannot defeat a blockade. Also, watch out for quick tech to air strategies as your mass zealots will be worthless vs. air armies and will need quick stalker/sentry support.

Tips for Pulling off the Attack:

You will want to push as early as possible. It is recommended after 8 zealots to push. Look for and avoid blockades as much as possible, picking off expansions and fighting armies in the open. Constantly scout the entrance to see if you can pull the enemy out of their base or push into their base without fighting at a blockade.

Transitioning out of this Strategy:

If your attack does not go well it is advisable to maintain map control outside of the enemies base and inhibit their ability to expand. Expand at the same time to gain an economic advantage while teching to catch up to your likely more tech'd opponent.
