This is a really flexible build order for the protoss in Starcraft 2. It allows the protoss to distribute some resource into gateway units and the rest into the robotics facility.

Scouting Needs: |

Optimal Map Conditions: |
| Scout the enemy and find out exactly what they are building. You can spend your resource on units that counters it. |
|
This build order works very well on medium sized maps. Small maps are prone to early rushes and it can be hard if there is only one gateway. |

Vs Zerg: |
| Very strong build order against Terran because you can get an observer out really quick to scout the enemy. This allows you to find out exactly what the enemy is doing. |

Avoid this build order against protoss, not enough production buildings to defend for early pushes. |
|
This build order is effective against Zerg especially if you push with Immortals, zealots, sentries and stalkers at mid game. |

What to Watch out For: |
| Make sure you hide your tech well, especially the robotics facility. Before any tier 2 tech buildings, most protoss base look very similar so its confuses the enemy. |

Tips for Pulling off the Attack: |
| Scout often and early to make sure you are one step ahead of the enemy. Because you can switch tech really easily, you can adapt and counter enemy's army composition. |

Transitioning out of this Strategy: |
| If you find the enemy going for mass ground troops, getting a robotics bay is a good idea for colossus. If the enemy is going for air, you need to add another gateway for more stalkers. Because of the the flexibilities, you just need to scout the enemy. |
